I’m hybrid so I drive 45 minutes to work on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday, so today my commute was down the stairs and to my home office. It was good, except for the fact that my elderly dog shit on the floor sometime in the middle of the night last night.

Love the grainy bird photos!

I teach high school and bike the 1.5ish miles to work. I’m pretty determined to get myself to work on my own power- in the 24 years since high school I’ve never had a job I had to drive to and only had a train commute for 8 months in 2008. What a life of privilege I lead! (Though I did walk 2 miles each way when I lived in France just because the walk was so lovely.)

I only work 3-4 days a week, which is nice, and only live 15 minutes from work, so that's nice, too. I complain about my work all the time, but writing that out, it doesn't sound so bad. Did have some nasty commutes in the snow storms the last few weeks, though.

I'm hybrid. I have a 15 minute drive to work on the days I go in, 2-3 times a week. Can't complain. Next year will be a beast, though. Son in high school starting at 7 am and my youngest in elementary still starting at 9 am. Drop off nightmare. Let the good times roll ...

And yes, bird feeder pics are always a good idea.

Currently funemployed while I wait for the gears of the film industry to slowly grind back to life, but I braved the weather last evening to head down to The Egyptian for a 25th anniversary screening and panel on The Sopranos with David Chase, Terence Winter and Matthew Weiner in conversation. It was totally worth it, but the drive back home to the valley was one of the most intense I’ve had in a while, with frequent blinding waves of water spraying from the other side of the 101, and a lot of submerged intersections on the surface streets.

I walked up a flight of stairs to my studio, which I refer to as Studio North as it's on the north side of the house. In the warmer months I move it downstairs to our sun room, known as Studio South. There's a reason why it's called Studio South but it's too complicated to get into here.

I am in my final year of a PhD program, which means my commute is from bed, to the coffee maker, to my office chair. When I feel like I deserve a little treat, I get to go to the bathroom. I haven't been outside in three days and when I go up too many flights of stairs I breathe like Tony Soprano. I would say to send help, but what I really need is a nap.

I retired in September so my typical daily commute involves a sleepy few steps to the coffee machine, followed by a slightly-more-awake sit down to welcome the morning sun through the east windows. And then the most strenuous part of my responsibilities: greeting our two Huskies in the backyard and serving up their breakfast! This chaotic regimen is not for the faint of heart but somehow I survive.

Hope you're staying safe. The commute to my couch today was brutal, almost tripped on the rug. More bird pics

❤️ This always brightens my Mondays! Since the pandemic, my company switched to and stayed 100% remote so no commute for me! And yes, of course I want to see more grainy bird pictures!

I'm pretty lucky with the new gig, I get to walk about 15 paces down the hall to my office, most days. Of course, tomorrow I have to fly down to LA (from the Bay Area, so not too terrible) for my week in the (actual) office (every 10-12 weeks)....and following this crazy rain that just left us here. Good times!

I'm WFH since 2020 so pretty easy, though I've been thinking of forcing myself to walk to the public transit and back every day because I really need to rebuild some semblance of a routine in the attempt to restore work/life balance. And seeking out incidental other places I can take my work when meetings aren't too intense that also aren't bars or Starbucks. I love the flexibility, but really need to get off my block a bit more.

Very lucky to only have a 6 minute drive to work right now. A little over 3 miles from my house to my job. I feel like i haven’t thought about it for a while and I take it for granted. Because I look back and remember how I have been through a meat grinder commute with having to drive through the Fort Pitt tunnel in Pittsburgh for many years. That is a commute I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemies.

We had 3 inches of snow last night so I expected a total nightmare but it was actually not too bad

I shouldn't complain, as I am hybrid and get to spend half the time home, but the nice and quiet offices I worked in for seven years closed in the fall of last year and we all got consolidated into our production plant. This added another 7 miles and 10 minutes to my commute and has me going through one of the many pinch points of Illinois tollway system. Tons of trucks, bizarre merges and idiots who don't know where they are going. I hate it.

Good to hear you're fairing okay at the moment, BVK. Large parts of my collection are in my basement, so I would be totally freaking out. You and yours be safe, sir. Thoughts and prayers and such to everyone out there.
