I’ve never encountered a ghost or anything spectral. I’ve had other experiences that I won’t repeat because if someone else told them to me I’d swear they were making stuff up. Not sure how many other people have had those kinds of experiences.

One time my wife and I were watching TV at home and our cat freaked out and started looking down the hallway with her tail all puffed and we tried to get her attention but she wouldn’t look away. There was nothing we could see at the end of the hall, but she was so freaked out by something unseen, we can only guess it was a ghost.

I lived alone in an apartment in Mission, here in Calgary, and I was just doing my thing, late one night, and I have this, like, ingrained thing where I just turn lights off when I leave rooms and stuff. So, my house is always, like, especially when I lived alone, it was always dark. So, I'm brushing my teeth, and I stepped out into the hall, and I'm looking down the hallway towards my washing machine to see if my laundry is done—I had like a Euro machine. It was a wash and dry thing—and, there's like this apparitive thing in front of my eyes, down at the end of the hallway, that's shimmering and, like, causing the lights on the washing machine to, like, sway back and forth, and I'm like, "Nope. I'm not seeing that." So, I turn sort of like and look back. It's still there. [Lexi and Laura gasp and laugh] And, I'm like, "I have two options right now. I go and deal with this thing. I get up in its face and find out what's going on, and, like, whatever. Or, [chuckling] I run the other way and try to like jump off my balcony," and I'm on the seventh floor, so [Laura laughs] I just, like, tried to steel myself. I'm, like, brushing my teeth. I've decided to just hang on to my toothbrush still. It's still, like, just--

Lexi 48:11

Stab it.

Ben 48:12

--scarcely cleaning my teeth, [Lexi laughs] and I'm walking towards it, and it's getting closer. It hasn't disappeared. Like, I'm like, "This can't be my vision. Like, my vision's okay. Like, this thing is still here. I still see it," and I get right up to it. It's still there. Like, I don't know what to do. It hasn't responded to me. And so, I go and I let go of my toothbrush and I, like, take it out of my mouth to reach towards this apparition, and it disappears.

Laura 48:34

Whoa.

Lexi 48:36

Uh.

Ben 48:36

And, suddenly, I realized I use an electric toothbrush and it's shaking my eyes, [Laura and Lexi laugh] and the reason I am seeing an apparition is because it's dark, there's a couple glowing lights, and I'm shaking my goddamn head with my toothbrush.

Lexi 48:53

Oh, my god. [Laura laughs]

Ben 48:53

I'm, like, clenching my teeth on my toothbrush while I'm brushing. And, I'm so relieved and upset with myself at the same time. [Laura laughs] And so, I only use manual toothbrushes.

Lexi 49:07

Oh, that is the most dad ghost story of all time. [Laura laughs]

I’m gonna switch to yearly after I get paid Thursday I’m psyched! Never had a ghost experience myself I’m pretty skeptical by nature but long story short I’m a recovering addict and this is a humiliating story but my closest thing to a spiritual encounter. I rent the home I grew up in, same one my grandma died it. A few years ago I VERY nearly relapsed; like bought some Percocet and everything my kid was not home and I was seconds away from well sniffing it in my bathroom but my long term gf and better half snaps out from behind a shower curtain and stops me, I was so concentrated on using I didn’t notice her in there and she SWEARS up and down the only reason she was in there is she heard and old woman tell her to go look in the shower- which is exactly what my dearly departed grandmother would have done lol. Anyways didn’t use and now I’m 7+ years and counting clean (maybe) thanks to a benevolent ghost. Sorry to disappoint any scary ghost fans haha

About 30 years ago, my then-partner and I moved into a large twin house in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The folks who lived in the other side of the twin had a five year-old daughter, who, according to the mother, occasionally had conversations in her third-floor bedroom with a little girl who lived in the house (as the daughter said), "A long, long time ago." As far as the mother could tell, there was nothing malicious or frightening about the conversations -- just two little girls chatting about little girl stuff.

Then, a couple years later, the family next door moved away.

A few months later, I was up on the third floor (where we had a guest room) watching TV (my partner was watching something else in the living room) when I suddenly had the intense, very uncomfortable sensation that someone was standing behind me, staring at me, very much searching for something... possibly someone. No one spoke and I adamantly refused to turn around though the skin on the back of my head was prickling and puckering. When the sensation faded, I got up and left the room as quickly as I could without running. It never helps to run.

I did not spend any extended amount of time in the room by myself for many months and never, ever let my (then 4 year-old) son play in the room by himself because... Well, because.

Just read the whole thing again. And damn. Hitting page 100 like you planned it from the beginning or something. Spectacular!

As for ghosts, yeah, our cat used to lie in the kitchen and stare at the space under the stove, or it sat in the corner of the living room and watched the corner of the room. Six months after we moved out, we were passing by on a walk and heard the current tenants having a serious throw-down argument. We realized our two fierce disagreements happened in that apartment. We didn't miss it.

Oh man do I want to win some Niko side boob art! Also, that cover is fantastic!

I am only haunted by past lovers.

I would have to draw an arrow on my head and go as an air bender once if I was bald, my go to would be Picard though. Alas, it is not on the cards for me. I got so upset last week I tried to pull my hair out, but it was still too thick and luxurious. *sigh*

When I was younger me and a group of friends went to a cemetery to hang out for about a hour and when we were about to leave we heard a weird noice coming from a distance and out of nowhere that same eerie noice was 10 feet from us and once again at a distance.. we were curious so we walked toward it and then to our right it sounded as if someone stacked 10 bricks really fast and the wind sounded as if it were coming from a tunnel due to the high trees surrounding the area so we got out of there as fast as we could.

Currently sat here, bucket full of candy, waiting for kids to show up to my door (probably the only day of the year where that sentence isn’t scandalous) and thinking about the ghost tour I went on in New Orleans. Stopped at several incredible locations, including the house of famed piece of shit person Madame LaLaurie. I saw nothing supernatural but I had a great time. Back when I lived in San Francisco my friends used to smoke weed in a dog park that would occasionally have a ghost tour come through but the only thing scary about that was how high we got.

All this to say, I ain’t afraid of no ghost (because I haven’t seen ‘em).

I had a spectre visit me in the hospital room when my daughter was born. After all the labor was over and countless doctors and nurses finally tended to my wife and baby, it was finally just us in the delivery room. Right then, I felt a heavy hand rest on my shoulder. I half expected a doctor to be behind me, but my intuition told me that it was my dad giving me a gentle pat and looking down on my new family.

I Wish I could snag one of those founder packages, but alas it's not in the cards for me a the moment.

As far as ghosts. I did have one encounter when I was very young. I remember walking to the kitchen of my house and seeing outside the window above my sink a hand wave at me. I remember the hand being yellow like it was made out of light. I don't remember what happened after that, but I do remember the stories that my mom would tell about the bank she used to work for.

People that worked at that bank said the building was haunted by children especially on the second floor. My mom's office was on the second floor and she would sometimes work late. During those late night's she would see and hear things. Towards the back of the second floor, the second floor was an open floor plan with cubicles, were typewriters and every so often she would hear the typewriters go off like someone was typing on them. Other times she would see office chairs spin around and push themselves under their respective desks all by themselves. When it was one of those nights she would quickly finish whatever she was working on and get the fuck out of there. Also she wouldn't be the only one to experience these things. She would hear from her co-workers too that would experience the same thing.

I personally never experienced anything when I was there late at night waiting for my mom, but a little part of me wanted to.

Around my 25th birthday I went to visit my oldest aunt who lives in Arizona, in a border town called Nogales. I stayed at her house, which is old as dirt. I do know that my aunt's cousin had passed away there, because I had gone to her funeral, but don't know of any others who died in that house or on that land. One night as I was sleeping in the spare bedroom (which my aunt has filled with creepy dolls on every wall which is another story in itself) I woke up from sleep. I just felt strange, like if I was being watched. And then I look to the doorway and see the figure of a man with a hat, just an all black figure, and his hat was like my grandpa would wear when picking in the fields. I was freaked out. I wouldn't take my eyes off the figure as he was moving and was walking towards the living room and then just was gone. Needless to say, I just stayed under my covers and was praying myself to sleep. My aunt who lives there says she has never seen anything strange. I told my family this and another aunt of mine who has stayed there said she was woken up because she was being pulled at her feet. Yeah, when I go visit my aunt I always stay at a hotel now.
