I think for me it was the first time I read Negan destroying Glenn's head with the baseball bat in the Walking Dead. I remember where I was, read it, and I felt upset. You spend so much time with these characters that they become friends and it was such a brutal and vicious way to kill him off, it really was upsetting. I remember being down after reading that, almost at the point of tears.

Glenn's death in The Walking Dead #100. It made me nauseous, even in black and white - full page.

That's a pretty remarkable splash page. I started collecting The 'Nam during the quarantine. I'm missing issues 40, 46, 48, 49, 52, 56 on up. I'll like to collect the whole series before I start reading it. Currently one of the series I'm reading all the way through is Dark Horse Presents. I finished collecting this a few years ago as they discontinued the anthology but I read Sandman, Swamp Thing from House of Secrets #92 through Alan Moores run (currently trying to complete the volume of the series with a few issues to go), Usagi Yojimbo, and Groo. Slowly reading Love & Rockets too. All the while trying to keep up with the weekly comic pull too. Ha!

I listened to your Cartoonist Kayfabe interview and I love that comics are your major source of reading even today. Nice to know that creators like you are still comic readers like us fans. :)

Niko's bloodshed is intense. Hello Monday! Whew.

The moment that perturbed me the most is in your We Stand On Guard when the brain fantasy manipulator caused the hero to imagine her father was going to rape her. That was so brutal I didn't enjoy the rest of the story. The art was great but that was horrifying.

Michael Walsh's art in The Silver Coin has been full of terrifying gore, straight from Satan's nightmares. The sixth issue in the arcade was particularly jarring.

I've already seen a few mentions of The Walking Dead so I may as well add another. I'll never forget the page from #83 where Carl is shot in the eye. It shows the grotesque violence that we've seen against countless characters throughout the series, but this time it's right on young Carl's face. The massive speech bubble with the tiny lettered "Dad?" is devastating.

Rorschach confronting Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen. "Well? What are you waiting for? Do it." Then Dr. Manhattan vaporizes him, leaving a bloody mess staining the snows of Antartica.

Sin City - A Dame to Kill For

The use of lighting, shadow, and silhouette somehow made it even more brutal and impactful and was my first exposure to Miller’s work so it’s always stuck with me.

The one that stands out the most as an adult reader is the death of Hughie's girlfriend right off the bat in The Boys. Saga has also had its fair share of fantastically violent moments. But if I'm being completely honest, 10 year old me had his tiny, not fully formed brain blown by the brutal beating with a crowbar, and subsequent murder of Jason Todd by the Joker.

Buddy getting his arm ripped off at the end of Animal Man #21. Not only a gut-wrenching moment of violence but, to my young mind, one of the best cliffhangers in comics - how was he ever going to recover from that?!

For me it has to be The Will crushing the groomer's head with his bare hands in Saga! The teeth and head pulp everywhere was so crazy. Fiona killed it and that will forever be ingrained in my memory.
