Seeing Everything Everywhere All At Once in a couple days. I’ve been so fucking excited! It doesn’t come out until Friday in my city. I have leftover posters if you want me to send you one though! The google eyed teaser poster is the bomb.com.

Congratulations Brandon and Dallas. I am hexadecimal color code #056608 green with envy.

This is my favorite new panels so far. Worth the extra wait! Love where this is going.

Real quick, all my 80s star wars action figures were discount bin back scene characters. I also hate Lobot... and Walrus Man.

Last post matrix sci-fi flick you that didn’t rip off The Matrix? I was going to say Tennet, but I think that movie is just the Matrix played backward. I'm going to dust off my bong and sync matrix up backwards to it. I'll get back to you.

Nothing isn't the Matrix (or at least in some part or an approximation). I will say - of the movies that borrow - Equilibrium is probably one of my most underrated favorites. If I remember back to my video store rental days - the tagline on the box said, "if you liked the Matrix, you'll love this!" I think I rented it, so I could shred it..... but the cast and concept delivered. (bale, bean, watson, diggs, others).

Congratulations, Brandon and Dallas! Also, does anyone else still feel a bit iffy about crowded movie theaters after two years of this pandemic? I've gone twice in the last few months and still can't quite relax just yet.

It’s a little bit of an older film but Sunshine was underrated and amazing

Pretty sure Everything... hasn’t hit the UK yet but I can’t wait to see it when it does!

Not sure it’s entirely out of the shadow of The Matrix but I’m gonna throw Beyond The Black Rainbow out there as a movie that revels in actual psychedelia and psychic/“magic” powers instead of The Matrix’s more measured scientific approach? Maybe. I’m not sure. I need to think on this more. See also - Under The Skin... perhaps....

I remember a conversation with a DP (Director of Photography) friend of mine, remember him saying: "there was before... and then there was after".

Been salivating since the trailer, but it doesn’t get close to me till the weekend. My wife proclaimed that she couldn’t imagine a film that looked more as if it had been made specifically for me (I’m not sure what this says about me), and I’ve already bought some merch so I’d better like it.

Wow this is awesome, thank you! And congrats to Dallas as well! Btw if anyone wants to check out Edison Neo's work it's easy to see why I'm loving his commission sketches so much - https://www.neocomicart.com/

The Daniels are on a wavelength that is incomperable. Swiss Army Man redefined friendships for me and has prompted me to open up more than I ever did in my early years. It's also a great piece of anti-Incel art, much like another weekly project, evidently.

Everything Everywhere All At Once themes are perfectly timed, and the joy and filth that they couch these simple messages in-- *OOF* if gets me right in the gut, makes me hoot and cry and want to love.

There is so much Matrix in most everything sci-fi, but one of my favorite sci-fi films that did not seem to share a lot of the tropes was Coherence, a little sci-fi indie movie from 2013 about a group of friends in a house encountering a comet passing overhead.....with mind-bending consequences. It also stars Nicholas Brendon (Xander from Buffy fame). It was one of those movies that seemed distinct and original although I'm sure people could pick at its influences. From what I hear about Everything Everywhere All At Once, I think you'd appreciate Coherence.

Hmmm... there are many thing I have to say that blew my mind mostly animated like Ralph Bakshi’s STREETFIGHT and HEAVY METAL the movie (the original) but the MATRIX did really open my eyes. That last one was an odd piece of trash, but the original still stand after watching it.

Have you seen Annihilation? 🤯 Pure genius. (The book is great too but the movie is almost a totally divergent work.)

The Vast of the Night (2019) was very impressive and very non-Matrix
