Just sitting here rethinking my late night plans to check out Batman this coming Thursday night when it releases :)
Haunting visuals as always, did not expect that, or see that coming, cannot wait to see where we go from here...you've both done an amazing job of defying whatever I expect to happen next. Keeping me on my toes. The last panel with the closer shot of her face is haunting, but I think the prior one with the shooter just walking away...may have stuck with me more.
First time in a while I've been genuinely shocked reading a comic.
Also, I liked how you put the last page of last week's installment into the newsletter before the new pages. It helped with the flow of the story to remember where we left off without a boring recap.
Man that new page was brutal for SURE! If The Batman underperforms, we'll all know who to blame lol. Yikes!
My guess for your recent trip would be Toronto. I know little about the history of comics, but I just read We Stand on Guard this weekend, so the home of Joseph Shuster is my guess. Also loved seeing a Regina shout out in comics. I almost died! 🤣
I really thought last week Nico had depicted a misfire in the second to last panel. Damn. I was sad to see the vet go, but now the porn loving protagonist!
Correct me if I'm wrong, Niko, but I believe you (cruelly) have the shooter dealing with what turns out to be only a temporary jam in that panel before the weapon's chamber is cleared.
Haven't had the good fortune of visiting the Stash yet!
Been absolutely scrubbing thru that Kayfabe interview to find when you talked about the comics batcave place you recently visited slash were invited to but cannot find it !! Alas !! Thanks for another great entry tho, have a great week all !! Xx
I was fortunate enough to see (just a small sample) of the epic collection of writer David Mandel, some of which you can check out at his positively dizzying Comic Art Fans gallery: https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=2044
No idea where you would go on a comic book historical pilgrimage. I like how these digital comics release can be a long or as short as you want them. That they can end on different unresolved mysteries and misdirection to keep us wanting resolution (and keep us coming back). Lots of violence but I knew what I signed up for. Whew.
Well damn wise, are you kidding me? That was not what I expected , it ended so quickly and it was just brutal … but I am guessing you meant locations. Library of Congress wise the comics collection and graphic arts gallery are where I was thinking because they sound amazing. I live in Dallas where Heritage Auctions is and their corporate office is like a museum of amazing comic book history and their auctions often have historic items.
Wait. After reading BigbyJW’s comment I meant to use the specific title Newspaper and Current Periodical Reading Room at the United States Library of Congress … where the big comic book collection is lol.
Literally stunning, in every sense of the word </3
Still holding out for some hope that Val will be revived or smthg? Maybe this is a sci-fi *finger crossed*, though ik in the past with characters in your Sci-Fi's (like Marko, Prince Robot IV etc >:-/) that wasn't the case, still maybe this one'll be different? Plz?
I agree with the other readers that have said the last page recap is a great idea! Having said that - what a shocking instalment this was! You really do know how to hook a reader…
My guess for comic book pilgrimage would be a trip to Cleveland?! But I feel this may be too obvious haha
And forgive me, I failed to credit John Wagner, Alan Grant and Carlos Ezquerra for that incredibly unsettling Dredd panel!

Thanks gents.
Batman - yes, I feel that ...
What. The. Fuck.

Agree on the recap, neat effective option with this format.
Well damn..
That last panel will be burned into my memory. Absolute horror.
Hall of Heroes Museum, Elkhart, IN?
Nope, but good guess, would love to check it out.
Congrats Kimberly!

Thanks, Jordan! And love Toronto, but no international travel for me (yet).
You visited the home of Cherry Pop-Tart creator Larry Welz?
I wish?
Oh man. You said Pop Tart and cherry at that ... Mmm, I love pop tarts.
Excellent! Didn't see that coming.
That Iosat in a backpack is stark.

Secret Stash Red Bank, N.J? :)
Congrats Kimberly E.

I live mere miles from a nuclear power plant and we're allocated those pills for free by the county if we wish...
Awwww dang 😂😂 this f-ing series DAMN!!!

Now to wait another 7 days . . .
Well damn ... and how about Heritage Auctions or Library of Congress
Can you be more specific, Ron...?

Geppi Gems Exhibition?

Meltdown COmics in LA? At least where it was? Or Comic Relief in Berkeley, at least where it was? Argh.

Not Cleveland (this time). And thanks, cool to hear people like getting a page of recap!
