Every instalment just makes me want more! Such beautiful work from the whole team here.
As far as questions for Mr Ennis, I’d love his thoughts on the changes in the industry from the days of Vertigo publishing experimental creator owned work to now having projects at multiple ‘smaller’ publishers. What is the comic book business landscape like for him now?

Garth Ennis?! I fuckin love that guy! <3 His run of The Darkness is what got me into comics and started all of this for me lol Please, If you have time I'd love to know what his favorite gore scene is that he's had a hand in creating, and why?
Also I'm so excited for Saga this week, that last issue was left off a liiiiiiittle tense lol It's so good to have issues coming out again and I can't wait to see where you and the Fabulous Fiona takes it all next.
Also just curious, Niko, do you do commission work at all? I have something id love to get your rendering of if you do :)

Please ask Garth Enis why his "More Shit About Fucking Tanks" comic did not have one fucking tank in it?!? Not a Panzer, Sherman, or even a shitty Matilda! I was promised tanks!
In all seriousness I would love to know what made him explore such an obscure wwii campaign? I love that the Lion and the Eagle is giving honor to these overlooked and forgotten soldiers of Burma.

Congratulations, Nick - that frame looks fantastic! Also, my question for Mr. Ennis would be if he's interested in giving Panel Syndicate a shot, too (I'd be curious what ideas he would come up with in this strictly digital, no-interference-from-publishers-format).

I really dug Drive My Car, but the biggest surprise to me of this awards season was Worst Person in the World. It’s a film that I walked out of the theater thinking “Yeah that was good, but I don’t understand the hubbub”, and then I found myself coming back to sequences and scenes in my mind, over the next few weeks, before finally deciding, “Okay that film was excellent.”

Saw the new horror movie X this weekend and immediately thought of you guys and your work with Spectators. It's a fusion and understanding of sex and violence. Given the first few pages and panels of Spectators, it was... unnerving to watch it in a movie theater to say the least. But I thought you guys and fans of Spectators would really like it.

Great pages !! Who is this new character ?? I'm away from the LCS on a little holiday at present so will miss Saga, making this my BKV fix for the week !! Having said that though, I may end up getting digital before I pick it up, cos I just can't wait !!!
Which neatly leads me to my question for the venerable mr ennis (so excited - I've just started reading Preacher for the first time, and Book 3 arrived today!!). How do you think the increasing digitisation of comics affects their content? Is the digital medium a benefit for independent creators? Does it expand storytelling opportunities and how have you taken advantage of them??
I'd be interested what other members of The Tower think of digital comics !! I read most of my Marvel stuff on MU and pick up digital singles if I have no access to the LCS, but can't help but feel a digital mag lacks the soul of a physical (especially after that Comixology debarkle). Having said that, Spectators is one of my faves atm and substack rocks for publishers!
Have a nice week everyone and apologies for the rambling post !! xx

Thanks Brian and Niko! As always, love Mondays and where this bizarre story is going. My question: is there any, literally any, rhyme or reason to what we decide is art, mainstream media, or smut? Is it the media in which it’s presented? Ie some mediums are more palatable for the consumption of sex, nudity, or violence? Culture plays some role I guess, but even certain highly restrictive middle eastern countries illegally binged the crap out of GoT. Can’t wait for the podcast :)
I'm wondering how you go about researching for your books? In particular something like Sara, since I imagine the soviets didn't make a ton of stuff public.
In regards to research, when sending out scripts how much detail do you put in to it? Do you send image files or just write it out.
Drive my car was the first movie I saw since theaters closed due to the pandemic. There was maybe 12 of us in the theater. I loved it. I loved the Korean sign language, the dealing with grief and trauma and shame, and the hope. Beautiful film.
I listened to Ali Wong’s audiobook “Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets & Advice for Living Your Best Life” she wrote for her daughters to read when they are adults. And enjoyed her Netflix movie “Always Be My Maybe.” But I never watched her standup shows there. Thanks for prompt to watch her new show. Now to make the time to watch any of them. :)
I’m enjoying your teams substack a lot. Thanks for making it!
PS - LeBron destroyed us. :(

Thanks again, you guys!!
Good thing all my kids are grown for when I am sent the last page's original art for my nerd cave I am constructing . :-)
Incredible double page spread!

To BKV and Garth Ennis-thank you both for your magnificent work. Hellblazer and Saga top my all time favorites comics list.
Question to you both-what do you geek out on?
Save my question till you are a couple of pints in and let us know about that fanboy moment when YOU were the fanboy. Did you squeee?

Thanks, love your work. You too, BKV
I have a question for Brian, Garth and Niko:
As comic creators, do you feel the explosion of comic book movies has helped or harmed comic creators/the industry?
Follow up: do you have a favorite comic book movie done within the last 10 years?
