I'm giving my younger nephew a "child sized safe" which could have either meant a small safe for a kid or a safe big enough to fit a kid in it, he would not clarify to save my life.. I went with the smaller, kid friendly play safe. Let's hope his friends aren't that tiny or I'm in serious trouble.

My big gift this year was for my wife she like the artist Priya Rama, so I got her the original painting that she helped the artist name. I got it at the beginning of the year, but she said I was off the hook for gifts for the rest of the year, so I need to figure out what to get her for 2023. 😅

Brian, please take care of yourself. I got COVID over Thanksgiving in NYC and it was horrendous. It was not just a cold on steroids. I have not been ill since 2018, maybe 2019--I rarely get ill-- & this thing was awful. Stay safe, get lots rest, I wish you a great time with your family.

I have a deadline on 6th of January, so no holidays for me, just a few unavoidable family gatherings. And I'm fine with it - really not a big fan of Christmas. Happy birthday Niko, I wanted to spend this holiday season changing my girls mind on how she feels about this holiday. She was never much of a fan but I feel it really brings ppl together. Got us tickets to the trans Siberian orchestra concert but we weren’t able to go, what would have been my future mother in law passed away last week and it’s not exactly a time to celebrate. Instead of visiting my family in Vegas for the holiday this year I’ll be with my girl’s family for support. I hope everyone has a good holiday.

I just want to say what a pleasure this comment section has been these last several months. Getting to interact with Brian and Niko, learning from all you wonderful, savvy, interesting commenters, and having a place to share my writings on life and pop culture, it’s been immensely rewarding.
During my first, very lonely, year of film school I was a lurker on the BKV boards. I sometimes regret never joining in but this substack has given me a chance to right that wrong. Plus, I’m in my mid 30s now so I (hopefully) have more interesting things to say than 18 year old me ever did.
