After a streak-ruining loss at Wordle over the weekend (CATCH?!), I’m back in the saddle with a quick solve in two this morning, how about you?
Brian here, hoping the Cleveland Guardians might find similar redemption against those damn Yankees later tonight. Catch?
While I’ve been idly spectating, artist/co-creator Niko Henrichon has been hard at work adding a terrifying level of detail to today’s new installment of Spectators (lettered, as always, by the enigmatic Fonografiks), as we finally get a glimpse of the unfolding horror our immaterial and corporeal characters have already witnessed…
Seriously, what the hell is going on with this nutty book?
Stay tuned, uneasily offended effendi. Our world may be in danger of ending, but Val and Sam’s story has only just begun…
Congrats to Fonografiks and Fiona Staples, and huge thanks to our friends at Barnes & Noble for including Saga Volume 10 with some excellent company in their list of Best Books of 2022.
Speaking of Vol. 10, I owe another signed copy to a randomly selected commenter from last week’s chat thread, where we discussed what song you would select for your walk-up/entrance music if you were/are a professional athlete.
And today’s lucky winner is Djinn and Sonic, who writes:
My wrestling entrance song would be “Gaia” by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. I think the intro would make a great pop-off song:
You ain’t wrong, D&S. Congrats, and our intern Genesis will be in touch for your mailing whereabouts, etc.
But if you’re curious about the musical tastes of the rest of your fellow readers here at Exploding Giraffe, subscriber Kieth has been heroically assembling ALL of your responses into a single Spotify playlist, and the result is beyond epic:
Truly, we are blessed with the coolest readers anywhere on the internet.
I wish I could share some of the more hilarious AOL-related revelations from this weekend’s private chat with you generous paid subscribers in The Tower, but I’m sworn to secrecy.
I will reveal that Sara C. is the big winner of a signed copy of that gorgeous hardcover of The Private Eye from Panel Syndicate’s occasional print partner Image Comics.
Hope you dig it, Sara, and the rest of you less fortunate but equally loved non-winners are always welcome to download the entire ten-issue miniseries (for any price you think is fair, including $0) right over here.
All right, back to writing future installments of Spectators for me.
But before we part ways, inspired by today’s troubling vignette, I was wondering: What’s your most interesting experience at a theme park?
Go Guards,
BKV
Experiencing the Star Wars experience with my family and getting lucky enough to go through Rise of the Resistance. Blew us all away.
Harrison Ford and his entire extended family cut me in line at Six Flags. Kinda rude but it was very Han Solo of him, so I didn’t mind.
