Fun anecdote: Early in my comics career, I sent my own hand-drawn sample layouts to an artist, who kindly told me, "Never, ever do that again." And I never have!

Anyway, thanks for the fascinating window into your process, Niko. I've told you this many times, but your "loose" layouts are tighter than many artists' finished pages.

Its so cool to see these layouts. And its interesting to see what a jump in detail it is between the first and second lol I'm really loving your art style and the more I check it out the more I'm into it. I love your use of color as well.

Thank you for giving me such a wonderful insight to the way you work. It is always crazy how things come to life and how you can give a piece of white paper so much emotions. Thank you again

I cannot compute how you get to such perfect distillations of moments and don't know if I will ever get there, but love being able to see the process. Blows my mind. Thank you for sharing Niko!

Thanks for the peek into your amazing creative process Niko! Absolutely fascinating to see the storytelling on display here.

Can’t wait to see your post on colouring, easily one of my favourite parts of a comic book. Good colouring is like good cinematography - it can totally elevate the material.

Great peek into your process, Niko!! Thanks so much. So you do rough layouts in PS and then lightbox them to paper for final inks and colors?

Thanks for posting the three videos of your layouts. It was so interesting to see the perspective work on the last panel of the third video. Watching the computer process your artistic creative steps is amazing. This just wasn’t possible before and it’s a gem to be able to observe this slice of it thanks to you recording it and posting it here. Thank you. Also thanks for all the layouts your provided. I really love seeing them. They enrich the whole comic experience and deepen my appreciation for your work, the storytelling, and entertainment of this story. This post is worth the cost of admission and then some for me. With gratitude, maka

I know I'm late to this party, but I wish to echo the appreciation. I wanted time and space away from life's many nuisances to drink this in. It's great watching you work, Niko. A real education. I loved your art in Pride of Baghdad and it's great to watch Spectators unfold before our eyes--on top of that, we also get to watch some of the process?! Awesome. The best and most illustrative for me was watching you manipulate perspective & photo reference to suit your purposes. One day, I hope to learn digital drawing. Right now, however, I'm still learning which end of the pencil goes on the page. At least I draw better than Brian! HAHAHA! Just kidding, Brian. Again, many, many thanks for sharing. Have a great week.
