That's one hell of a difficult question to answer, but I'll go with the one that comes first to my mind because it has haunted me since I first saw it many, many years ago: Don't Look Now. Nicolas Roeg builds a freakshily and nightmarishly little psychological horror movie that has surreal overtones and one hell of a convincing (natural, maybe?) sex scene, maybe the best of the kind (what kind you ask and I don't really know, I answer) I've seen in movies. And yes, that ending kills! This film had such an effect in me that I made it my mission to visit Venice during winter to check out as many of the locations I could find before getting completely lost and/or afraid of my own footsteps echoing in the empty, dark, cold streets of that wonderful city.
I'm too foggy w/ a headcold for the British film question, but the first few answers are good. Lawrence, Brian, Four Weddings, King's Speech ... all favorites of mine. I guess I could suggest The Crying Game.
Scrolled through the Time Out list and forgot how many times I watched Gregory's Girl and Local Hero (featuring sexy Wedge) on early 80's cable. Tough. So many choices and some things I have never seen. Lawrence of Arabia is probably somewhere on my top 10, but to be honest, Monty Python and the Holy Grail is probably the one I have watched most.
Cannot wait for Battle Action...and I think Get Fury #6 is out this week too! With Hello Darkness #3 out last week, that's two weeks of Ennis!
First of all, Hot Fuzz, hands down. An all time favorite in general, but as a comedy, forever on the top 5. Damn near perfect satire that does the genre it's satirizing even better than many iterations that "meant every word." On that note: my second of all. You are on the banned list with some damn good company. It's a badge of honor and you *deserve* it. You tell stories that fascists fear, what could be more powerful than that? Thanks for doing what you've done and continuing to do it, BKV.
Being a Brit might lead to some bias... but Hot Fuzz may be the greatest comedy movie ever made
Looking forward to checking out Battle Action.
My favorite British film is hands down Four Weddings and a Funeral. I watch it at least twice a year.
THE KING’S SPEECH - extraordinary acting depicting historical figures that left me humbled and inspired
Maybe an obvious choice built I have to go with Monty Python’s Life of Brian.

Would Nichols Roeg's adaption of The Man Who Fell to Earth count?
YOU TOTALLY GET TO SEE DAVID BOWIE'S WIENER IN THAT ONE!
What's more British?
Lawrence of Arabia
Hard not to pick this one, seeing as it’s one of the greatest films ever made.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Not even close for me. I can watch it over and over. (Life of Brian is pretty good as well)
Billy Elliot - it has everything I need: breaking gender norms, dancing, the clash.
Forgot to include: class politics & worker’s rights
“Cake and fine wine!”
Withnail and I
I *think* that she may be looking for Defenders #4 when Valkyrie gets more definition - https://screenrant.com/best-valkyrie-marvel-comics-thor-love-thunder/ - I haven't read my copy in 30 years though.

I think you’re right!!! Thank you! She was always my favorite ❤️

"please be aware that there will be plenty of NSFW material ahead, including today"
Dude, that's why I am here! ;D
I have to say Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but Shaun of the Dead came immediately to mind, as well.
Another tough question, but I think I have to go with Withnail and I. The script and acting are pretty perfect.
(Next thing, you’ll be asking about our favourite British tv series, god help us!)

Yeah. Probably one of the best
