Friday. At last.
How’s your week been? It’s once again a thousand degrees here in the San Fernando Valley, and my youngest continues her unbroken streak of besting me at Wordle every morning, despite the fact that I have been professionally manipulating the alphabet since long before she was born.
How can we turn around this already challenging day?
How about some more free comics?
Spectators will be back with our regularly scheduled new pages on Monday, but for now, writer Jay Faerber and artist Michael Montenat have two complete installments of their chilling crime comic Glacier City available exclusively at Panel Syndicate.
You can download both issues for any price you think is fair (including $0.00!), but Jay is my longest friendship in comics and I think this is one of the best things he’s ever written, so I hope you’ll throw his dedicated creative team a buck or two, and please let them know we sent you.
And while you’re there, don’t forget to catch up on some of the other incredible series we “host” over at Panel Syndicate (creators retain 100% of anything you pay; we don’t take a dime!), including Friday from my longtime writing rival Ed Brubaker and Panel Syndicate’s tenacious founder Marcos Martin, with always extraordinary colors from Muntsa Vicente.
All right, that should keep you free subscribers to Exploding Giraffe occupied for the weekend, yeah? We’ll see you back here on Monday…
…but for those of you generous paid subscribers in The Tower, WAIT, there’s more!
You’ve most likely never read my take on classic Marvel hero the Silver Surfer, but that character is actually 100% responsible for my first job with Marvel…and my last?!
If you have some time to kill this afternoon, and are curious about whatever happened to that Silver Surfer screenplay I was supposedly writing a few years ago, join us beyond this cosmic paywall, as we take you back in time to explore (as much as my various NDAs will allow, at least):
